About EPOMM

EPOMM is an international partnership aiming to

  • promote and further develop Mobility Management in Europe
  • fine tune the implementation between the Member States of the EU and other countries in Europe.

Mobility Management, an equally novel and promising concept to promote sustainable transport, still varies from country to country both in terms of scope and level of implementation. EPOMM, the European Platform on Mobility Management, seeks to remedy this.

EPOMM provides a forum for all those interested in Mobility Management: representatives from EU member governments, local and regional authorities, researchers, major employers, transport operators and other user groups.

EPOMM provides
  • a platform for authorities, companies, users and people
  • a platform to use for the search and exchange of information, ideas, concepts in the field of mobility management
  • a platform for tools, support, training, marketing in mobility management
Network Development

EPOMM develops itself as a strong, co-operative and balanced network of actors involved in Mobility Management in Europe. EPOMM provides a well known network and reference point for all interested actors ensures synergies between the actors acts as a representative interlocutor for all matters related to mobility management The amount of information available on Mobility Management is continuously growing.

Information Exchange

EPOMM gathers, processes and distributes key information throughout the EU countries. To this end, EPOMM utilises so-called National Focal Points as its decentralised operational arms. EPOMM also establishes intense relationships with actors in the Central and Eastern European States, USA, Asia and Australia.

EPOMM operates a web site, a regular newsletter, holds conferences on Mobility Management, organises expert workshops on specific topics and ensures the continuity of the yearly ECOMM (European Conference on Mobility Management).

Promotion

Promotion and marketing of Mobility Management is therefore centrepiece to the EPOMM initiative. EPOMM's promotional and marketing strategy rests upon its web site, carefully designed workshops targeted at politicians and local authority decision makers, prominent pilot actions to demonstrate the effectiveness of Mobility Management measures in practice and to achieve extensive media coverage. Two primary target groups will be addressed:

  • the wider public in EU countries and beyond (especially the EU accession states), and the
  • decision makers at the various local and regional government and administrative levels.
Education

To spread and further improve the concept of Mobility Management, EPOMM offers a bundle of training and education services: training courses in countries where Mobility Management is less known or practised exchange programmes between different countries and institutions, targeted at experts, mobility managers and government officials special topic workshops to exchange experiences and expertise between (local) governments and expert groups EPOMM aims to firmly establish a "European vision" of Mobility Management.

Discussion & Innovation Fruitful discussions and a climate of innovation are vital to keep Mobility Management in the limelight and to advance the concept as a whole. To this end, EPOMM organises regular expert workshops for local authority representatives and other experts.
